Bankstown and Manly Clash for Poidevin-Gray Shield

Bankstown will host Manly Warringah at Bankstown Oval this Sunday, March 9, for the Poidevin-Gray Shield final.

Bankstown 

  • Bankstown are looking for their first Poidevin-Gray Shield title since 2013/14. 
  • Bankstown won five of their eight regular round fixtures, including a dominant 10-wicket win over Gordon in round four. They progressed through the quarter-final with a two-wicket win over Sydney University and the semi final with a six-wicket win over Parramatta.  
  • Riley Kingsell leads the competition in runs with 386 at an impressive average of 96.50 - including an unbeaten 130 in round eight and 107 against Parramatta in the semi final.  
  • Matthew Fitzgerald is the leading wicket taker with 21 at an average of 11.43.  

Manly 

  • Manly enter the final off the back off seven straight wins. Their last defeat came way back in round two when they suffered a 37-run loss to Fairfield-Liverpool. 
  • It’s been a long time between drinks for Manly, who last lifted the Poidevin-Gray Shield back in 1985/86. 
  • Henry Rogers leads the side in runs with 225, while Joshua Lawson leads with the ball in hand – collecting 14 and sitting in sixth overall.
