NSW selectors have named a 13-player squad to take on Western Australia at the WACA in round eight of the Sheffield Shield, starting on Thursday (6/3).
Ryan Hadley comes back into the squad, having recovered from injury, while Ross Pawson and Blake Nikitaras drop out of the 14-man group named ahead of last month’s win over Victoria.
Both the Blues and the Western Australians have so far compiled three wins, two draws and three losses and sit in second and third respectively on the Shield standings, separated by 0.24 bonus points.
All six states are still a mathematical chance of qualifying for the final but a win this week for NSW will go a long way to cementing a berth in the decider, with an away match against Tasmania remaining after the trip to Perth.
