The zone-based T20 knockout tournament, featuring the top cricketers from Northern and Southern NSW, will culminate in a must-watch clash between two talented sides commencing at 1pm.
Originally scheduled to take place prior to the KFC BBL fixture between the Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Renegades at Sydney Showground Stadium in January, the match was forced into a date change due to inclement weather.
Chair of Country Cricket, Paul Marjoribanks said:
“The change of the Plan B Country Bash to a zone-based format has injected new energy into the competition.
“It is great to see Greater Illawarra and Riverina in the final, as well as a number of Bush Blues who will be taking part – Bailey Abela and Ethan Debono for Greater Illawarra and Hamish Starr for Riverina.
“Country Cricket NSW is excited to bring this event to Artie Smith Oval in Bomaderry following the recent opening of the ground. We thank Shoalhaven City Council for their vision in developing the ground.”
Marjoribanks also noted the importance of road safety for players venturing far and wide to compete in the short-format tournament and others alike.
“There is also an important message that can’t be forgotten with the Plan B Country Bash, noting the long distances that country cricketers travel to play, you must always have a Plan B,” Marjoribanks said.
“We are extremely grateful to Transport for NSW for their support of the Plan B Country Bash.”
