Superstar Nathan Lyon, firebrand Liam Hatcher and rising all-rounder William Salzmann are the new faces in a 13-player NSW Men’s Team named for their Marsh One-Day Cup clash with South Australia at Adelaide Oval on Friday.
Lyon, Hatcher, Salzmann in for Blues ODC vs SA
The Blues are 1-2 in their One-Day Cup campaign this summer and will be buoyed by the return of Lyon, who will make his first domestic appearance of the summer and only his second match since injuring his calf in the Ashes in June. Lyon played Sydney Premier Cricket for Northern District last weekend.Hatcher, one of the Blues’ best last summer in the 50-over format is also on the comeback from a foot injury suffered while representing Australia A against New Zealand A last month. The fast bowler is primed for a big summer, having signed on to return to Sydney Thunder for KFC|BBL12.Salzmann, a former Australian U19 representative is hoping to add to his solitary List A appearance (in last season’s opener) after a string of strong performances in the national Second Xl competition and Sydney Premier Cricket.Joel Davies, Jack Nisbet and Chris Tremain drop out of the squad that fell agonisingly close to victory against Queensland at North Sydney Oval last week.The match begins at 10.30am (Sydney time) and will be broadcast live on cricket.com.au and Kayo.
