Randwick Petersham crowned Men's Kingsgrove Sports T20 champions for a sixth time

Randwick Petersham Cricket Club have been crowned Men's Kingsgrove Sports T20 champions for a record sixth time after securing a come-from-behind win over Bankstown during Sunday's final at Coogee Oval.

Chasing an awkward 146-run target for victory, Randwick were seemingly in trouble at 6-68 in the 12th over before Angus McTaggart and Ashley Burton combined for an unbeaten 78-run partnership for the seventh wicket, guiding the team to victory with five balls to spare.

McTaggart, later named player of the match following the four-wicket win, top-scored for Randwick with 45 not out from 25 balls, including three sixes, while Burton finished unbeaten on 32.

Earlier, Bankstown posted 8-145 from their 20 overs, with Ryan Freeman anchoring the innings with an unbeaten 37. Daya Singh was the pick of the Randwick bowlers with team-best figures of 3-32 from his four overs.

The triumph marks the sixth time that Randwick have won the Men's Kingsgrove Sports T20 since the competition's inception in 2008/09.

Cricket NSW would like to thank umpires Sharad Patel and Nic Warburton, along with Mike Whitney, John Stewart and the Randwick Petersham club and ground staff.

Cricket NSW would also like to extend its gratitude to Harry Solomons, Managing Director and founder of Kingsgrove Sports, for his continued support of Premier Cricket. Courtesy of Kingsgrove Sports, Randwick Petersham received $10,000 in prize money following their triumph, while Bankstown received $4,000.
