Two Life Memberships Awarded at Cricket NSW AGM

During the AGM, the Honourable Margaret Beazley AO KC was reappointed Patron-in-Chief, with The Hon. John Howard OM AC and Basil Sellers AO returning as Vice Patrons.  

Retiring directors Stuart Clark and Paul Marjoribanks, who served on the Board for three and eight years respectively, were thanked for their service to Cricket NSW. 

Clark stepped down after accepting a role with the NSW Office of Sport, while Marjoribanks did not seek re-election after also completing his tenure as Country Cricket NSW Chair. 

Fellow retiring board member Kevin Greene AM was re-elected to the CNSW Board of Directors, alongside new members Simone Constant and Michael Erdeljac. Karen Robbins was reappointed as a Board Appointed Director. 

CNSW Chairman, John Knox and CEO, Lee Germon thanked members for their unwavering support, and provided an update on the Big Bash privatisation process. 

They are also reflected on highlights from the 2025/26 season, including: 

• A 13th One-Day Cup title for the NSW Blues, who defeated Tasmania in Hobart to lift the Dean Jones Trophy 

• The NSW Breakers finishing on top of the WNCL table before going down in a spirited Final against Queensland 

• The Sydney Sixers reaching the BBL|15 Final and the WBBL|11 Finals series 

• International debuts for Tahlia Wilson (ODI), Jack Edwards (T20I) and Joel Davies (T20I) 

• The Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder Big Bash clubs achieving record memberships, alongside attendance and viewership growth 

• A 9% growth in overall participation, including 12% growth among kids aged 5-12 

• Key appointments, including Blues head coach Brad Haddin, Blues assistant coaches Peter Forrest and Daniel Smith, performance director David Misson and Thunder BBL coach Andrew Flintoff 

Darren Goodger was awarded Life Membership for his exceptional contribution to the game across NSW, having devoted almost four decades of service to cricket as an umpire, administrator, educator and leader. 

Since he commenced umpiring in 1987, Goodger has forged a reputation as one of the most revered umpires in the state, officiating 490 Sydney Cricket Association matches, including 340 in First Grade, and overseeing 23 finals. 

Off the field, Goodger's contribution has been equally significant. His devotion to umpire education and development, and the success of country cricket, has seen him hold numerous volunteer leadership positions.  

Awarded Life Membership for her 40 years of distinguished service to cricket in New South Wales, Jessica Henry has established herself as a leading advocate for the women’s game across the state. 

Henry’s extraordinary contribution to Gordon Cricket Club, including a 25-year tenure as president, earned her Life Membership and eleven Clubwoman of the Year awards, while with 548 appearances, she's the most-capped player ever in Women’s Premier Cricket. 

Alongside this, Henry has played a key role in the development of the women’s game in NSW. She has held numerous positions on Cricket NSW and Sydney Cricket Association subcommittees, managed NSW underage teams, and founded Australia’s first national women’s veterans’ tournament.
