The National Indigenous Cricket Championships (NICC) came to an end yesterday on Yuwibara Country in Mackay, with New South Wales finishing runners up against Queensland in the men’s division and third in the women’s division.

In the men’s final, NSW were defeated by Queensland by seven wickets with opening batter Pat Rosser top scoring with a clean half-century. With the ball, Ben Patterson and Austyn Nugent claimed a wicket each as Queensland’s Dylan McLachlan (73*) ran away with the game.
In the women’s division, NSW narrowly missed out on a place in the final after a defeat to Queensland on Sunday afternoon.
NSW had three players named across the me Men’s and Women’s Team of the Tournament:
- Pat Rosser | third highest run scorer (men’s)
- Austyn Nugent | fifth highest run scorer (men’s)
- Callee Black | sixth highest run scorer (women’s)
Cricket NSW would like to extend their congratulations to Pat Rosser and Damien Duroux who represented the NSW Men’s Indigenous Team for the 20th time.
In addition to the two playing teams, Nick Warburton represented NSWCUSA and Cricket NSW as an umpire, his first Cricket Australia tournament.
