Kingsgrove Sports T20 Cup finals day preview

The much-anticipated Kingsgrove Sports T20 Cup Finals Day will descend on North Sydney Oval this Sunday, October 20, marking the first time since the 2018/19 season that all three finals will take place on the same day.

With semi-finals scheduled to commence at 9.30am and 1.30pm, the stage will be set for the decider under lights at 6.30pm.

Bankstown vs St George

Bankstown will lean heavily on in-form batsman Will Bosisto, who leads the tournament in runs with 292 at an average of 48.7.

Captain Dan Solway is confident in his side's consistency, citing the 6-wicket win over St George earlier in the competition as a key motivator.

"We've been doing a great job of playing consistent cricket throughout the year," Solway said.

"It's always a hard-fought game. We've met them a couple of times already this year and gained confidence with our victory in the early rounds."

However, St George are no strangers to finals pressure and will be keen to add another trophy to their cabinet.

NSW Blues stars Blake Nikitaras and Kurtis Patterson are in red-hot form. Nikitaras, coming off an unbeaten 86 in the first round final and a vital 64 in the quarter final, has been instrumental in their finals push. Patterson, who smashed 63* from 38 balls in the first round final, provides an added boost.

"They've been batting really well, they're both in pretty good nick," said St George’s English recruit Ollie Rayner.

"It's exciting watching them bat, and I'm looking forward to seeing them on a small ground at North Sydney".

Northern District vs Fairfield-Liverpool

The second semi-final will see the undefeated Northern District take on a determined Fairfield-Liverpool side. Northern District, boasting two T20 titles, will be bolstered by key inclusions Chris Green and overseas player Ben Mike.

Blues rookie keeper-batter Lachlan Shaw will also be a pivotal figure, having lit up the quarterfinals with a blistering 107 from just 57 balls.

Fairfield-Liverpool, looking to go one better than last year's semi-final exit, come into the clash full of confidence. They secured their spot with a solid victory over Parramatta, and wicketkeeper Coby Holland believes Yuva Nishchay will deliver on Sunday.

"He's has been really good for us this year, starting us off well – he's a big one for us opening the bowling".
