Morton Century Guides Highlands To Plan B Country Plate Victory

Highlands District Cricket Association took home the Plan B Country Plate at Hurstville Oval after coming out on top against Narrabri.

James Morton crashed a 116-ball 110 as he and skipper Jack Whitfield (88) shared a third-wicket stand of 181 in a first innings score of 9/248.

In reply, Narrabri could only muster 182 all out, Matthew Pike the pick of the bowlers with 3-18 and captain Whitfield chipping in with 3-45, including the final wicket which handed his side victory.

This is the fourth time the Plate has gone to the Highlands area, with Highlands DCA winning twice and Bowral CC and Robertson Burrawang CC once each.

Participants in the Plan B Country Plate competition are from small country associations, with the finalists determined following a series of 40-overs a side knock out matches across regional NSW.
