Western Suburbs and Northern District set for Limited-Overs Cup Final face-off

Western Suburbs District Cricket Club will welcome Northern District Cricket Club to Pratten Park this Sunday, March 3, for the first-grade Limited-Overs Cup final.

Western Suburbs

  • The team from Pratten Park edged through to the Limited-Overs Cup finals series in seventh place, after earning two bonus points victories in the preliminary rounds. They have gone on to eliminate first and second seeded St George and Eastern Suburbs, to progress to Sunday’s final.
  • Opening bat, Josh Clarke, leads the side in limited-overs runs this season with 282 at an average of 47 (including finals). Clarke had an unbeaten century (129*) against Eastern Suburbs in the Magpies’ first finals fixture.
  • Muhammad Irfan has 17 wickets (ave. 15.88) from eight matches (including finals), with a five-wicket haul in the Magpies’ semi-final fixture against St George.

Northern District

  • The Rangers finished the regular rounds with a 4-2 record, qualifying in fifth position. They have since overcome third and fourth seeded Manly Warringah and Gordon, to advance to the decider.
