Greater Hunter Coast v Blacktown
Greater Hunter Coast enter the semi-finals as minor premiers, riding a wave of momentum after finishing the regular season with 10 wins and 5 losses, including a commanding seven-game winning streak. Their last defeat came back in Round 8 against the Southern Stars, and they haven’t looked back since.
They’ve already accounted for Blacktown once this season, claiming a 55-run victory in Round 4, and will take confidence from that performance into this knockout clash.
The ladder-leaders boast firepower with both bat and ball. Lily Railz sits atop the competition’s run-scoring charts with a remarkable 463 runs at 57.88, providing consistency and match-winning ability at the top. With the ball, Bronte Morgan has been just as influential, leading her side with 21 wickets at 10.29, placing her inside the competition’s top 10 wicket-takers.
Blacktown, however, have their own statement to make.
Despite finishing the regular season with the same 10-5 record (fourth overall), they arrive full of confidence after a dominant 73-run elimination-final win over St George-Sutherland.
Still chasing their first-ever Brewer Shield title, Blacktown will lean heavily on two of the competition’s standout performers. Trisha Yadav sits seventh on the overall run tally with 385 runs at 38.5, while Gayathri Naik has been one of the most dangerous bowlers in the competition, claiming 27 wickets at 8.3 - good for third overall.
Penrith v Manly Warringah
The second semi-final features two evenly matched sides who have already traded blows this season.
Penrith finished the regular rounds in second place with a 10-5 record, but Manly Warringah, who placed third, may hold the psychological edge after a four-wicket win in Round 11.
Penrith’s batting has been anchored by Aleena Syed, who sits sixth in the competition for runs with 395 at 30.38, while Mithula Venkatesh has led the attack with 20 wickets, placing her inside the top 10 overall.
Manly Warringah counter with a balanced lineup led by Matilda Brown, whose 360 runs at 30 ranks eighth in the competition. While they don’t have a bowler inside the top 10 overall, Yuhansa Jayakody (14th) and Brown (15th) have consistently contributed with the ball to complement their batting strength.
