Bray named Young Cricketer of the Year

Cricket NSW congratulates NSW Breakers and Sydney Sixers all-rounder Caoimhe Bray on being named the Betty Wilson Young Cricketer of the Year in the 2026 Australian Cricket Awards.

The 16-year-old made eight WNCL, nine WBBL and four T20 Spring Challenge appearances during the voting period from December 2024 to December 2025, showcasing her skill across all disciplines.

Bray has been a consistent performer with bat and ball in both blue and magenta, with her standout performance coming in the first WBBL|11 Sydney Smash with figures of 4-15 including a hattrick against Sydney Thunder.

She is the second NSW-based winner of the award, following Hannah Darlington in 2021.

Leah Poulton, Cricket NSW Head of Female Cricket, said:

"Caoimhe has made an outstanding start to her career with the Sixers and the Breakers. She has demonstrated tremendous skill and potential with both bat and ball and is clearly a player with a very bright future ahead of her.

Most importantly, Caoimhe is a fantastic team person. She brings an incredible energy to every group she’s part of, bringing out the best in those around her.

We congratulate Caoimhe on receiving this award and look forward to seeing her back on the park soon".
