Campbelltown Camden go back-to-back

Campbelltown Camden have claimed consecutive Women’s Kingsgrove Sports T20 Cup crowns, defeating Sydney by eight wickets at Hurstville Oval on Sunday.

After lifting the trophy for the first time last season when rain cut short their decider against Manly Warringah, the Ghosts left no doubt this time around, confidently chasing down Sydney’s modest target of 70 inside 12 overs.

Campbelltown’s bowlers set the tone early - Keisha Baldwin was outstanding, delivering a Player of the Match performance with figures of 3/16 from her four overs.

Both sides deserve congratulations for impressive seasons and for the spirit in which the final was played.

Earlier in the day, Sydney earned their place in the decider with a 30-run win over Parramatta, while Campbelltown Camden booked their return to the final with an eight-wicket victory against Gordon.

Cricket NSW extends its thanks to umpires Sue Gregory and Leone Mizzi, as well as the scorers from both clubs, for their professionalism throughout the day.

A special acknowledgement goes to Harry Solomons and Kingsgrove Sports for their ongoing support of cricket in NSW and their generous prizemoney contribution, with $6000 awarded to the Premiers and $2000 to the runners-up.

A sincere thanks to Kevin Greene, Mick Finn, St George Cricket Club and the Hurstville Oval ground staff for their excellent hospitality. Their efforts, particularly in managing morning rain, ensured the final was played in full and that supporters enjoyed an entertaining afternoon of high-quality cricket.
