McDonald’s Women’s NSW Premier Cricket Returns for 2025-26

The 2025/26 McDonald’s Women’s Premier Cricket competition will kick off this weekend, with players from across First Grade, Second Grade, Third Grade and the U18 Brewer Shield ready to pull on their club colours and launch into another big summer of cricket.

This year’s schedule again features a mixture of T20 and Limited Over matches, with the two formats operating as separate First Grade competitions complete with their own ladders and finals series.

The Women’s Kingsgrove Sports T20 Cup will take centre stage early in the season, with matches condensed into a six-week block that will culminate in an action-packed Finals Day on Sunday, November 23. The 50-over competition will then roll on across the remainder of the summer.

Round 1 of the season will see First Grade, Second Grade and Brewer Shield fixtures played as club triple and double headers, creating a strong opening weekend atmosphere across Sydney. The Second Grade and Brewer Shield competitions will once again align their fixtures with the First Grade Women’s Kingsgrove Sports T20 Cup schedule, while Third Grade will continue under the same format as last summer.

Last season’s Ruth Preddey Trophy winners St George-Sutherland CC will open their title defence this weekend, while Campbelltown-Camden DCC will look to go back-to-back after claiming the Kingsgrove Sports T20 Cup in 2024/25. UTS North Sydney CC enter as Second Grade Premiers, Parramatta DCC return as Third Grade champions, and the Southern Swans will be out to defend their Brewer Shield crown. Sydney CC, winners of last season’s Club Championship, will also look to build on their momentum across all grades.

Cricket NSW Premier Cricket Manager Sean Mantle said the revamped structure and T20 focus provided a dynamic way to launch the new season.

“We’re really excited to get the new season underway,” Mantle said.

“The condensed Kingsgrove Sports T20 Cup gives clubs and players a high-energy start to the summer, and it’s great to see so many matches being played as club double and triple headers — it really helps build that community atmosphere.

“The standard continues to rise every year, and with both the T20 and 50-over competitions running side by side, it’s shaping up as another outstanding season of Women’s Premier Cricket.

“A big thank you to our clubs, volunteers and partners, McDonald’s and Kingsgrove Sports, for their ongoing support of women’s cricket in NSW.”
