Breakers quartet picked for ICC Women’s ODI World Cup

NSW will be well represented at the ICC Women's World Cup with four Breakers named as part of Australia’s squad.

Alyssa Healy, Ash Gardner, Phoebe Litchfield and Ellyse Perry have today been named by the Cricket Australia National Selection Panel (NSP) in a 15-player squad for the upcoming ICC Women's World Cup to be played across India and Sri Lanka.

Australia will finalise its title defence preparations with three One-Day Internationals againsts hosts, India from 14-20 September in New Chandigrah and New Dehli, before opening its bid for an unprecendented eightyh World Cup title against Trans Tasman rivals, New Zealand in Indore on 1 October. 

Healy will lead the side, while Litchfield’s selection marks her first appearance in a 50-over World Cup squad.

Australia will face each of the other seven nations across the round-robin format, with the top four sides progressing to the semi-finals on 29 and 30 October. The Final will be played on Sunday 2 November.
