2025/26 Women’s Emerging Player Program Squad Announced

Cricket NSW is pleased to announce the 11 athletes selected in the 2025/26 Women’s Emerging Player Program (EPP), continuing its investment in the development of elite female cricketers across the state.

The EPP remains a vital component of the female high-performance pathway, offering athletes access to elite-level coaching, high-performance facilities, and the opportunity to train alongside some of the country’s best players.

Recent graduates are already making their mark at the professional level. Caoimhe Bray and Ella Briscoe both progressed before securing their first WBBL contracts ahead of WBBL|10. At just 15 years old, Bray has also signed a rookie contract with the NSW Breakers following a breakout WBBL campaign and an impressive WNCL debut.

The program also continues to support emerging and established talents such as Lauren Kua and Stella Campbell, who remain part of the EPP as they strive for higher honours.

Aligned closely with the domestic calendar, the EPP shifts to a T20 focus during the WBBL period, with players embedded in either the Sixers or Thunder Academies, with selection opportunities in the Spring Challenge and WBBL available based on performance.

From December, the program pivots focus to one-day cricket, with Second XI matches scheduled during the second half of the season.

Head of Elite Female Cricket Leah Poulton emphasised the EPP’s role in shaping future stars.

“The EPP is a vital component of our Female Pathway and continues to grow and evolve each year, and we’re incredibly proud of the impact it’s having on players' careers,” Poulton said.

“Last season, three EPP athletes (Nicklin, Bates, and Bray) earned upgrades to NSW State contracts and two secured WBBL deals. This year’s cohort is equally as talented, and I’m excited to watch their development throughout the season”
