Breakers Reunite with Katie Mack

The NSW Breakers will welcome home a familiar face in 2025/26, with the signing of experienced top-order batter Katie Mack on a two-year deal.

A product of the Breakers’ rookie program, Mack returns to Sydney after more than a decade with the ACT Meteors, bringing with her a wealth of experience, leadership, and an impressive record at the top of the order.

Mack has established herself as one of domestic cricket’s most reliable and consistent performers, amassing more than 3,300 runs in the WNCL, including five centuries, 25 half-centuries, and a career-best unbeaten 140.

The inclusion adds even more firepower to a Breakers line-up featuring WNCL Player of the Tournament and leading run-scorer Tahlia Wilson, and Player of the Final Anika Learoyd, who finished second on the competition's run tally.

“I’m excited to be back where my cricket career started - it feels like a full circle moment,” Mack said.

“I’ve played alongside a lot of the girls before, so it’ll be great to be teammates again.

“I’m keen to get working with the coaching staff and make the most of the world-class facilities at Cricket Central. I’m really looking forward to building on my batting and scoring plenty of runs for the Breakers.”

Leah Poulton, Head of Female Elite Cricket at Cricket NSW, said the signing was an exciting boost to the Breakers program.

“It’s always special to welcome NSW players home, and having Katie in the sky blue is something we’re really excited about,” Poulton said.

"She has a wonderful record on the field, and her consistency with the bat over a number of years speaks for itself. Equally important is the reputation she’s built as a great team player, an outstanding leader, and a mentor to those around her.

“We’re incredibly proud to welcome Katie back and can’t wait to see the impact she’ll have on our program.”
