Women’s Premier Cricket Finals Ready to Fire

This weekend will mark the conclusion of the 2024/25 McDonald’s Women’s NSW Premier Cricket season with finals across four grades, featuring six clubs.  

Cricket Central is set to host the McDonald’s Women’s NSW Premier Cricket First Grade Final between Campbelltown Camden and St George-Sutherland this Sunday, March 16.

Campbelltown Camden 

  • Qualified for the finals in third position. Defeated reigning premiers Sydney by 31-runs to progress to Sunday’s decider. 
  • Claire Koski has amassed 628 runs this season, the most in the Ghosts lineup and third most for the competition. 
  • The side will be without their leading wicket-taker, Hannah Baker, who has returned to England for their domestic season. 
  • The Ghosts will be eyeing a unique double, after claiming the first grade T20 title in January. 

St George-Sutherland 

  • Finished fourth on the competition ladder. Secured their spot in the final by downing top of the table Manly Warringah by five wickets.
  • Rhiannon Dick has been the side’s best with the bat this season, with 431 runs. 
  • Jaclyn Vickery is the competition’s third highest wicket-taker with 25. Young gun Juliette Morton sits in fourth with 24. 
  • St George-Sutherland are searching for their maiden first grade limited overs title. 

The two sides have met twice this season, with the Ghosts getting the better of St George-Sutherland on both occasions.

Second Grade

Who: UTS North Sydney v Parramatta  
What: McDonald’s Women’s Premier Cricket Second Grade Final 
Where: Tunks Park, Cammeray 
When: Sunday, March 16 from 10:00am 

UTS North Sydney 

  • Finished third on the competition ladder with a 13-4 record. A three-wicket win over Bankstown secured their position in Sunday’s final.
  • Bella Johnson has tallied 539 runs this season at an average of 44.92, including an unbeaten 107.
  • Emily Aitken has been the Bears’ best with the ball this season with 24 wickets.
  • UTS are looking to go back-to-back after lifting the women’s second grade trophy in 2023/24. 

Parramatta 

  • Qualified fourth for the finals. Defeated top of the table Sydney by 25-runs to advance to the decider.
  • Kelsey Miller has an unbeaten 106 to go along with 462 runs this season, the most in Parramatta’s line-up. 
  • Jaaniya Shah has 28 wickets this season, the second most in the competition.
  • Parramatta are searching for their first women’s second grade title since 2021/22.  

UTS North Sydney and Parramatta have met twice this season with UTS recording a three-wicket win in a round five, before Parramatta turned the tables with a six-run win in round 15. 

Third Grade

Who: Parramatta v St George-Sutherland at Belmore Park  
What: McDonald’s Women’s Premier Cricket Third Grade Final 
Where: Belmore Park, Parramatta 
When: Saturday, March 15 from 12:30pm 

Parramatta 

  • Top of the table at the end of the regular season. Recorded a three-wicket win over defending champions Manly Warringah to reach Saturday’s final.
  • Nicole Knox has been Parramatta’s best with the bat this season with 286 runs, including an unbeaten half-century. 
  • With 14 wickets (8.29 average) Jorja Mizzi leads the side in dismissals, including a career best 4-2 (4) in round five.
  • Parramatta are searching for their maiden third grade trophy.  

St George-Sutherland  

  • Qualified for the finals in third position. Overcame second placed UTS North Sydney to advance to the grand final. 
  • Samantha Dillon has notched up 403 runs at an average of 134.33, dismissed just three times in third grade this season. 
  • Helen Williams (1), Scotia McKerron (2) and Stephanie Gillet (4) all feature in the top five wicket takers this season with 24, 16 and 15 respectively. 
  • St George-Sutherland have a rich history in women’s third grade, lifting the limited overs trophy on 14 occasions over the years. 

The sides have met on three occasions this season. With one match abandoned due to weather, Parramatta recorded a 186-run win in round one and a 70-run win in round 15.

Brewer Shield

Who: Southern Swans v Manly Warringah 
What: McDonald’s Women’s Brewer Shield Final 
Where: King George V Oval, Port Kembla 
When:  Sunday, March 16 from 10:00am 

Southern Swans 

  • Finished third on the competition ladder. Defeated reigning Brewer Shield champions Greater Hunter Coast by nine runs in the elimination final before marching into the grand final with an eight-wicket win over St George-Sutherland in the semi. 
  • Nicola Hudson has a half-century to go along with 382 runs for the season, the most in the Swans line up. 
  • With 29 wickets, Natalia Egan is the Swans’ leading wicket-taker this season and sits in second across the entire competition. 
  • The Swans are searching for their maiden Brewer Shield. 

Manly Warringah

  • With an 11-4 record, Manly Warringah were fourth placed at the end of the regular season. They secured their spot in the grand final after a 56-run win over competition leader Gordon in the semi final. 
  • Keira Terrey is the competition’s fourth highest run scorer with 502, including an unbeaten 98. 
  • Matilda Brown sits at number three on the competition’s dismissals tally, boasting 24 wickets at an average of 9.88.
  • Manly Warringah will be looking to lift their first Brewer Shield  

The two teams went head-to-head in round 15, with the Southern Swans securing a 71-run win.
