Dominant Display Sees Northern District Crowned Champions

Northern District have lifted their seventh AW Green Shield and first since 2020/21, after defeating Parramatta by 115 runs at Mark Taylor Oval on Sunday.

Batting first, Northern District set an imposing target of 305, largely thanks to an unbeaten 112 from Zachary Haddin. Haddin’s innings was well supported by Lachlan Bartlett who hit a big 84 off 96, while Xander Carstens added a brisk 31 off 32 to maintain Northern District’s momentum.

Parramatta struggled against a disciplined bowling attack. Ulrich Vosser, Max Guazzarotta and Finn Bailey each took two wickets, while Bartlett backed up his batting performance picking up three wickets for 52 runs from nine overs. Despite some late fireworks from Ethan Natkunamanickam, who smacked 27 from 16, it was too little too late as they crumbled for just 190 runs in 46.1 overs.
