Blues beaten in MCG Shield match

The NSW Blues have been unsuccessful in their effort to secure the Hodge-Matthews trophy as they suffered defeat by 205 runs against Victoria in their Sheffield Shield clash at the MCG.

Chris Tremain claimed eight wickets for the match, taking four in both innings, whilst Nathan Lyon grabbed his first pole since returning from injury.

Jason Sangha fought hard to extend the match into the first session of the fourth day, bringing up his half-century in the later stages of day three.
