NSW trio earn national contracts for 2024-25

NSW trio Alyssa Healy, Ashleigh Gardner and Phoebe Litchfield have all been offered national contracts for the upcoming 2024-25 season, as announced today by Cricket Australia.

Australian captain Alyssa Healy will continue to lead the side, with an exciting summer ahead including an opportunity to defend an ICC T20 World Cup in Bangladesh in September and a home Ashes series commencing in January 2025.

The MOU between Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricketer’s Association states between 15 and 18 female players are eligible to be contracted.

Players not awarded contracts as part of the initial squad of 17 can earn upgrades throughout the year by accruing 12 upgrade points. Players receive five points for a Test match, two for a One-Day International and two for a T20 International.

Cricket Australia’s Head of Performance (Women’s Cricket) and National Selector, Shawn Flegler said:

“We’re really pleased to be able to offer Soph (Molineux) a contract after her successful return to the side this summer. She’s shown a great deal of resilience to get back to full fitness and she’ll play an important role next summer.

“We feel the list features a great deal of depth and a variety of skillsets that will come into play throughout the various series scheduled for 2024-25, including the T20 World Cup and multi-format Ashes series.”
