Western Australia have salvaged a draw against NSW Metro at the WACA Ground on Thursday in the Toyota Futures League.

The hosts were 6/181 at one stage on the fourth and final day still trailing by 46 runs, however a 193-run seventh wicket partnership between centurion Nick Maiolo (142 not out) and Bradley Hope (82) guided Western Australia to safety.

Western Australia finished at 7/425 in the second innings before the draw was declared.

NSW Blues leg-spinning allrounder Daniel Fallins claimed 4-131 in the second innings to finish the match with six scalps and complement his marvellous 113 from 223 balls with the bat.

On day three, Fallins shared a 255-run seventh wicket partnership with Blues rookie gloveman and fellow centurion Baxter Holt (151) which helped establish a 227-run lead on the first innings for NSW Metro.

Earlier on day four, Western Australia resumed at 3/80 and soon lost a further three wickets to be on the verge of an innings defeat.

Maiolo and Hope were superb for the hosts in their quest to save the match.

The centurion was especially good. During his 186 balls at the crease, he struck 19 fours and one six.

Sydney fast bowler Nic Bills (2-94) joined Fallins as the only other multiple wicket taker in the second innings for NSW Metro. Blues quick Harry Conway also collected 1-71.
