New South Wales Metro remain a chance of victory in its round 10 Toyota Futures League match against Victoria after fighting knocks by NSW Blues captain Peter Nevill and allrounder Daniel Sams.
Both batsmen scored half-centuries. Sams (67) and Metro captain Nevill (52) helped the visitors to 8/205 by stumps at Jubilee Park in Ringwood, Melbourne, on Wednesday.
They lead Victoria by 144 heading in to the fourth and final day.
Earlier, Victoria resumed at 4/208 and was bowled out for 321. The final wicket added 33, including 30 from 26 balls by No. 11 Andrew Fekete, that progressed the score past 300.
Blues quick Liam Hatcher was best of the bowlers for NSW Metro. He claimed 3-64 from 23 overs.
Fellow Blues speedster Harry Conway (2-37) and leg-spinner Daniel Fallins (2-89) were the other multiple wicket takers for Metro.
