New South Wales Blues paceman Liam Hatcher has starred with the ball for NSW Metro in a thrilling 10-run win against Victoria in the Toyota Futures League.

Hatcher, 22, claimed the outstanding figures of 7-43 from 14.2 overs in a match-winning performance at Jubilee Park, Melbourne, on Thursday. Victoria was bowled out for 145, within 45 overs, after NSW Metro earlier was dismissed for 216.

NSW Metro trailed by 61 runs on the first innings.

His seven wickets were the best figures for Hatcher in the Futures League and his first five-wicket haul. His effort bettered the figures of Victorian seamer Andrew Fekete, who claimed 6-45, in the second innings.

After making 321 in the first innings, Victoria tumbled to be 4/20 at one point in the second, losing three wickets with the score on 20.

While wicketkeeper-batsman Patrick Rowe and Xavier Crone were at the crease, Victoria appeared some chance of reaching the 156 for victory.

The pair moved the score from 5/78 to 122 before Blues leg-spinner Daniel Fallins (1-36) provided the important breakthrough. He removed Crone for 31 from 38 deliveries.

Hatcher dismissed Rowe for 35 from 85 balls seven overs later and the keeper-batter was the ninth wicket to fall.

The right-arm quick bowled No. 11 Fekete to claim his seventh wicket and finish the job for NSW Metro. Four of the Hatcher wickets were bowled.

Blues and Sydney Thunder allrounder Daniel Sams also claimed 2-33 from nine overs for Metro.
