Former Cricket NSW Chief Executive David Gilbert and Steve Bernard are the two NSW representatives named on the Cricket Australia Match Referee Panel for the 2020-21 season.
Cricket Australia announced a streamlined panel of nine Match Referees for the season on Thursday night.
The single Cricket Australia Match Referees Panel replaces the previous National and Supplementary Panels used in previous seasons.
Gilbert, a former NSW Blues and Australian Test fast bowler, made his First Class debut as a Match Referee during February in the Sheffield Shield match between New South Wales and South Australia, at Bankstown Oval.
Bernard is a member of the ICC Associate and Affiliate Panel of Referees representing Australia. He is also a former First Class cricketer for NSW and was long-time team manager for the Australian Men’s Cricket Team.
The Cricket Australia Match Referees Panel will oversee all Cricket Australia professional domestic competitions along with Pathway tournaments.
Cricket NSW would like to acknowledge the contribution of NSW Match Referees Tim Donahoo, Neil Findlay, Peter Marshall and Ian Thomas, who depart the CA Panel.
