Queensland has continued its stranglehold on the Toyota Futures League clash with NSW Metro at Blacktown International Sports Park posting a healthy total of 7-429 declared.

NSW Metro were in immediate trouble in their reply losing a number of quick wickets before reaching stumps at 8-127.

After Queensland elected to declare after lunch on day two, NSW Metro set about the task of chasing down their total but lost the wicket of Daniel Solway first ball.

Ryan Gibson and Jordan Gauci settled things for the hosts to take them to tea at 2-44.

However both Gibson and Gauci departed quickly after the break setting about a collapse with NSW Metro going on to lose six more wickets before stumps.

Earlier, Will Somerville was the main wicket taker for Metro with figures of 3-100, with Sean Abbott taking two wickets (2-55) and Liam Hatcher one (1-69).

Peter Forrest was unbeaten on 147 for Queensland while Charlie Hemphrey fell just short of a ton with 98.
