The last place in the Plan B Regional Bash finals will be decided this weekend at Coffs Harbour.

The leading team out of Northern Rivers Rock, Coffs Coast Chargers, Macquarie Coast Stingers and Northern Inland Bolters will go through to contest the Sydney Sixers Conference play-off during a big finals day at the SCG on 10 December.

Newcastle has already qualified as the other Sixers Conference finalist while the Wagga Wagga Sloggers and Orana Outlaws will meet in the Thunder conference final.

The winner of the Sixers and Thunder Conference finals will then play off under lights at the SCG for the Plan B Regional Bash title.

Northern Rivers Rock won the Sixers Conference last season before losing to the Orana Outlaws in the final while the Bolters made the final during the first season of the competition three years ago.

In contrast, the Stingers and the Chargers are yet to win a game in the tournament but the new round-robin format means they will both have three matches this weekend to break their duck.

Northern Rivers Rock have a strong line-up highlighted by powerful allrounder Caleb Ziebell, who has also been named in the NSW Country team to play the Toyota Australian Country Cricket Championships in Geraldton, Western Australia, next month.

Other players to watch including Justin Moore, a classy opening batsman, opening bowler James Julius, a prolific wicket taker and Lachlan Barnesly, a young opening batsman who scored a century at the Opens Country Championship.

The Coffs Coast Chargers boast experienced batsman Richie Gallichan, fiery fast bowler Luke Bird and left arm seamer Trent Statham, a North Coast stalwart.

The Macquarie Coast Stingers’ players to watch included Zac Sheather and Josh Hyde while the Northern Inland Bolters are headlined by NSW Country wicketkeeper Tom Groth

Player of the Tournament in season 2015/16, Simon Norvill, is an aggressive batsman who deals in boundaries and Tom O’Neill is an impressive fast bowler.
