The two leading T20 teams in NSW Premier Cricket next season will have the opportunity to compete for the title of the best T20 Premier Cricket team in Australia thanks to a new national tournament.

The inaugural national premier T20 championships will take place on March 5 and 6 at Karen Rolton Oval precinct in Adelaide.

This exciting new initiative from Cricket Australia which will feature 10 teams from across the country, representing all states and territories, includes two teams from NSW and Victoria.

The Sydney Cricket Club claimed the NSW Premier Cricket Kingsgrove Sports Twenty20 Cup last season, defeating Penrith by 36 runs in the Final at the SCG.

Using the T20 format to showcase and celebrate Premier Cricket across Australia, the event will give players an additional opportunity to display and enhance their skills and strategy.

A Premier Men’s competition will take place next season, with plans for a Premier Women’s competition the following summer.

The tournament highlights a national collaboration around Premier Cricket between Cricket Australia and State and Territory Associations – and an increased focus on T20 cricket at Premier level - with State Premier T20 competitions set to run simultaneously over the December-January period.

A T20 competition has also been announced as part of a revamped Toyota Futures League structure from January 28-31.
