The Grand Finals of the NSWDCA Inter-District Shields have arrived after seven hotly-contested weeks of competition.
Inner West Harbour Cricket Association has been selected to host four of the matches this Sunday 9 December.
St George will play Manly-Warringah for the Under 11 Creak Shield, whilst Inner West Harbour look poised to be the crowd favourite in their match against Hornsby Ku-ring-gai & Hills in the Under 12 Cawsey Shield.
Both matches are to be played at Morrison Bay Park, Putney. Two players to watch out for are St George’s Luca Pengue - who is averaging less than 7 with the ball - and Hornsby Ku-ring-gai & Hills’ Naden Cooray.
Cooray is averaging over 60 with the bat for the competition.
Two undefeated teams, ACT and Hawkesbury, will contest the Under 13 Gee Shield down the road at Campbell Park, Chiswick. While, Greater Illawarra and Newcastle will contest the Under 14 Moore Shield at the same venue.
A key weapon for the ACT will be the competition’s equal-leading wicket-taker, leg-spinner Jake Smith.
Meanwhile, on the same day north of the Harbour, Central Coast will take on Camden at Frank Gray Oval, North Curl Curl, in the Under 15 Weblin Shield.
A player to keep an eye on is Camden’s Akshat Mishra who peeled off an impressive score of 180 earlier in the competition.
Newcastle will vie with Penrith for the Under 16 Watson Shield title at the adjacent Weldon Oval.
Warringah Cricket Club plans to run a breakfast BBQ before the start of play and also a lunchtime BBQ for spectators at the Under 15 and Under 16 fixtures.
All matches are scheduled to start at 10:00am and full match details are available at nswdca.nsw.cricket.com.au.
Each match will be Live Scored and can be followed on the NSWDCA website of the MyCricket App by searching for NSW Districts Cricket Association.
