The NSW Blues have made one change to their squad for this week’s Sheffield Shield clash with Victoria at Bankstown Oval.

Superstar Pat Cummins comes into the squad for fellow Test fast bowler Josh Hazlewood, with the remainder of the group unchanged.

Cummins missed last week’s Shield loss to the Victorians but captained the Blues Marsh One Day Cup side to victory against the Vics with a player of the match performance.

Blues head coach Phil Jaques said the change was always planned as the defending Shield champions manage their fast bowling stocks.

“We mapped out a plan for Josh and with quick games back to back we have given him this game off but he will play our third game in this stretch of matches,” Jacques said.

“It’s a busy season and we have to manage all of our players, especially the quick bowlers so we have them all firing towards the back end of the season.”
