Nathan Lyon will become just the 13th Australian to play 100 Test matches when the national team takes the field in the fourth Test against India at the Gabba, Brisbane, on Friday.

Since making his Test debut in Sri Lanka, August 31, 2011, Lyon has taken 396 wickets making him Australia’s leading Test off-spinner of all-time and earning him the moniker of G.O.A.T – greatest off-spinner of all time.

The 33-year-old is third on the all-time list of Test wicket takers for Australia behind the great Shane Warne (708) and Glenn McGrath (563).

Lyon joins fellow NSW Blues, and Australian greats, Steve Waugh (168), Mark Waugh (128), Glenn McGrath (124), Michael Clarke (115) and Mark Taylor (104) to play 100 Test matches.
