The McDonald’s Country Championships are set to get underway today for four teams from in and around the Central Coast. Pool 1, which features Newcastle, Central Northern, North Coastal and Central Coast, will all be eager to kickstart their campaign with a win.

Round one will see defending champions Newcastle face off against Central Northern, whilst the host side Central Coast play their first fixture against North Coastal.

Pool 2, which contains three sides from Southern NSW and one from ACT Southern Districts will begin their McDonald’s Country Championships on February 4 and will play their cricket in and around the Shoalhaven region.

It is destined to be a highly competitive tournament as all players will surely be eyeing off a chance at selection into the Bush Blues squad for the Toyota Australian Country Championships, currently scheduled for April.

Cricket NSW would like to thank the tournament sponsor McDonald’s and all the volunteers at the Central Coast and Shoalhaven regions for their willingness to make events like this run successfully.

All matches will be live-streamed.
