Cricket NSW has taken a giant step towards solidifying an even deeper impact into the community with the exciting appointment of Dr. Mark Nelson as Chairman of the Cricket NSW Foundation Advisory Board.

Dr. Nelson is the Chairman of Art Exhibitions Australia, a Director of Kaldor Public Art Projects, and was formerly the Vice President of the Board of Trustees of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, and a Trustee of the Art Gallery of New South Wales Foundation. He is also the Chair of the Capital Campaign committee of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, which recently raised over $100 million in philanthropic funding for the Sydney Modern project. Dr. Nelson is also a Director of The Caledonia Foundation.

With significant experience in philanthropy, coupled with a passion for cricket at all levels, Dr. Nelson is thrilled about the opportunity to help shape and grow the Cricket NSW Foundation.

“The establishment of the Cricket NSW Foundation presents a great opportunity to use philanthropy to further grow cricket in NSW and to use sport to make a positive social change,” Dr. Nelson.

“The chance to lead the Cricket NSW Foundation is one that I am excited about and one that has tremendous potential.”  

The Cricket NSW Foundation has been formed to make an even deeper impact to the cricket community in NSW. Through the support of passionate benefactors, the Cricket NSW Foundation will aim to harness the power of sport to enhance people’s lives across NSW.

According to Cricket NSW CEO, Lee Germon, the appointment of Dr. Nelson ensures the Cricket NSW Foundation is well positioned to make an even greater impact on the community.

“Mark’s appointment is extremely exciting for cricket in NSW – he brings significant experience from the world of philanthropy and this will help us raise funds to further inspire people to play and love cricket,” Germon said.
