Experienced all-rounder Sammy-Jo Johnson has returned to a 13-player NSW Breakers squad for the competition leaders’ next Women’s National Cricket League fixture against the ACT Meteors in Canberra on Thursday.
Johnson is now in line to play her first WNCL match of the season after niggling injuries sidelined her after the WBBL.
She joins an experienced group led by skipper Alyssa Healy and coached by Gavan Twining, with the team also featuring six Australian representatives past and present in Healy, Erin Burns, Stella Campbell, Hannah Darlington, Ashleigh Gardner and Rachael Haynes.
The squad won both over their opening matches against Victoria, with Haynes, Healy, Burns, Gardner, Tahlia Wilson and Phoebe Litchfield all scoring half centuries during the pair of fixtures.
Darlington has taken five wickets so far, while Maitlan Brown and Emma Hughes both grabbed wickets while making their Breakers debuts.
