Australian and NSW Breakers keeper-batter Alyssa Healy and batter Rachel Haynes shared a 112 run opening partnership for Sydney against Gordon during a rain affected ninth round of the Women’s Premier Cricket season on Sunday.

Southern Stars keeper-batter Alyssa Healy smashed 77 from 52 balls, including 12 fours and a six, while fellow international teammate Haynes supported with 38 from 36 balls, hitting five boundaries. Sydney defeated Gordon by eight-wickets in the process after dismissing it for 128 after 45 overs.

Healy and Haynes guided Sydney over the line inside 17 overs in what was only their second Premier Cricket match of the season each, after Women’s Big Bash League duties earlier in the season.

Jannatul Sumona took 4-23 for Sydney from 10 overs, while Ahilya Chandel claimed 3-28 from eight overs.

The match between Parramatta and Campbelltown-Camden at Merrylands Park was reduced to 42 overs aside after rain delayed the start of play. A dominate Parramatta made 1/205 thanks to opener Kate Barry’s 89 from 122 balls, and Sixers and Breakers allrounder Hayley Silver-Holmes’s 53 from 60 balls.

The pair put on 127 for the second-wicket. Silver-Holmes backed up her batting effort with a star performance with the ball, claiming 4-13 from six overs, while Linsey Smith took 3-7 from eight overs, and bowled the Ghosts out for only 60 in under 27 overs.

Penrith v Northern District at Howell Oval and Universities v Parramatta at David Phillips Memorial Fields were both abandoned without a ball bowled.
