The NSW Breakers will play three intra-squad practice matches in Coffs Harbour this Friday to Sunday, with entry free to the public.

The matches will provide the local Coffs Harbour community with a chance to see the 20-time WNCL champions in action ahead of an extended WNCL season, which begins on September 22.

Breakers coach Dom Thornely has named a strong squad for the three practice matches, despite missing his Australian players who have recently returned from England.

Coffs Harbour local Anika Learoyd will take part in the Breakers pre season camp. Learoyd has been a regular fixture in the ACT/NSW Country underage sides for a number of seasons and has represented NSW at the National Indigenous Cricket Championships.

Learoyd makes her way into these fixtures as a member of the newly formed Female Transition Squad. The aim of this squad is to provide support to non-Breakers contracted players outside of the WBBL season. Other members of the Transition Squad partaking in these fixtures include Breakers and Sydney Thunder great Alex Blackwell, Sydney Sixers’ Jodie Hicks and Clara Iemma.

The Breakers will play in three intra-squad practice matches, with T20 matches to be played on Friday and Sunday and a 40 over hit-out to be played on Saturday.
