Sydney Thunder off-spinner Chris Green and Sydney Sixers left-arm paceman Ben Dwarshuis have been drafted into the NSW Blues squad for the remainder of the JLT One-Day Cup.
Green and Dwarshuis will replace right-arm fast bowler Trent Copeland and young batsman Jason Sangha, who will play Premier Cricket on Saturday.
The Blues play their next match against Victoria at North Sydney Oval on Sunday after returning from Perth following losses to Western Australia and South Australia.
Green comes back into the team on the back of strong performances in the recently concluded Caribbean Premier League where he helped his team, Guyana Amazon Warriors, reach the final of the T20 competition.
Green shared his excitement on being selected for the squad.
“I’ve just come back from a decent stint overseas. I’m excited to be straight back into it. To be back playing for NSW is something I have always wanted, so I couldn’t be happier,” Green said, expressing his delight on being picked for the JLT One-Day Cup.

Green also captained his CPL Franchise, Amazon Warriors, in the latter part of the Caribbean Premier League and feels that his overseas experience has aided him in building self-belief and self-confidence.
“I think the biggest thing I have gained from my stints overseas is the positive assurance and reassurances in my game. Just understanding myself and what I need to do, and the mental space I need to be in to be successful,” Green explained.
“I think T20 cricket has provided me with a really good base. Playing alongside some of the best players in the world, spending time with them and observing them going about their business has given me a lot of information and given me opportunities to apply that to my own personal game,” Green said.
“My goal this season and seasons to come is to make my debut in Shield cricket for NSW and push playing longer formats of the game.”
