Twenty-year-old Ashleigh Gardner is a huge coup for the Scorpions in 2017-18, having moved across from reigning Women’s National Cricket League premiers, the New South Wales Breakers.
An off-spinner and dynamic batter, Gardner has the ability to bat up the order and also have an impact with the ball.
Gardner made her international debut for the Australian Women’s Cricket Team in February 2017, making her Twenty20 debut alongside fellow Scorpions team-mate, Amanda Wellington.
She then went on to feature in the ICC Women’s World Cup series in England, playing all eight matches and achieving best figures of 22 runs and 3/28 against Pakistan.
