Stadium Growing in the West

Construction on the new AFL/Cricket precinct at Blacktown Olympic Park is fast approaching completion with the new facilities scheduled to open in June of this year.

Funded by Blacktown City Council, the State Government, Cricket NSW and AFL NSW/ACT, the precinct will include:

- Two new ovals with the main oval featuring a spectator capacity of 10,000, including 1500 grandstand seats.
- An indoor cricket practice centre
- A practice fielding area

Cricket NSW’s investment in this project is just part of the organisation’s investment in Western Sydney. Junior numbers continue to blossom in the area while several of the RTA SpeedBlitz Blues squad are products of the area, including the likes of Michael Clarke and Doug Bollinger. Wolf Blass Breakers captain, Lisa Sthalekar, also grew up in the region.

Once open, Blacktown Olympic Park will become Cricket NSW’s ‘home base’ in the west, catering to grass roots cricket as well as our many high performance squads.
