Cricket has caught Olympic fever with Beijing Bronze Medal-winning softballer Belinda Barnes the latest elite female athlete from another sport to sign up for the Sixers and Thunder Futurestars program.
Barnes and former Australian team mate Kym Turnell caught up for a hit at the SCG ahead of the Futurestars trial on Saturday September 3. All females aged 16 and over who have played another sport at state level or higher are eligible to register. Click here to register for the program
Belinda, a school teacher from Newcastle with two young children, decided to register after seeing an ABC news story of Kym and former Hockeyroo Kate Hollywood practicing for the trial.
