NSW Blues spinner Arjun Nair has bowled a damaging spell on day two of the Futures League clash against South Australia to ensure his side starting the second innings with a lead.
Nair (6-35) blasted through the Redbacks tail taking the wickets of their last six batsmen as they were bowled out for 239, 21 runs shy of NSW’s first innings total.
It was a remarkable turnaround for NSW after an impressive innings from in-form SA batsman John Dalton (94) had the Redbacks in the mix to take a first innings lead.
However after an impressive fightback, the NSW top order struggled in the second innings against a swinging Dukes ball.
Ryan Carters (7), Nick Bertus (9), Ryan Gibson (8) and Ben Rohrer (4) were all dismissed for single figures as NSW slumped to 4-33 before stumps.
Debutant Jordan Gauci (16no) and Jay Lenton (11) will resume on day three with the Blues 4-59.
