NSW has fallen short in a thrilling finish to their Futures League clash with South Australia despite impressive performances from young-guns Jordan Gauci and Arjun Nair.
Gauci (52) played well amidst a second innings collapse for NSW, as the visitors were bowled out for 140 at Glenelg, posting South Australia a target of 162 for victory.
Nair (3-56) and Gurinder Sandhu (3-27) gave their side hope of defending the modest total and were well supported by Josh Lalor (2-23) and Daniel Fallins (1-15).
With South Australia closing in on the target, but also short on wickets, play was extended on the final day with the hopes of securing a result.
Tail-enders Nick Winter (18no) and Elliot Opie (3no) were able to see their team home.
The result sees NSW finish the Futures League season with three wins, two losses and three draws.
