South Africa will host for the 2012 Champions League T20 this October where the Sydney Sixers and Perth Scorchers will represent Australia against the best provincial T20 teams from the host nation, India, England, West Indies and Sri Lanka.

The tournament will run from October 9-28 with matches played at Centurion, Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg. It is the second time South Africa has hosted this event after successfully staging the 2010 competition.

The Mumbai Indians are the defending champions this time around after knocking off the Royal Challengers Bangalore in last year’s Final. India will also be represented by the current IPL champions, the Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Daredevils.

Pakistan will enter a team for the first time ever in 2012, with the Sialkot Stallions flying their flag, while Trinidad and Tobago and the Auckland Aces represent the West Indies and New Zealand respectively. England and Sri Lanka’s champions are yet to be decided.

The match schedule for the 2012 Champions League T20 will be released soon.

The NSW SpeedBlitz Blues were the inaugural winners of this tournament in 2009. They also reached the Semi Finals in 2011, their final T20 tournament as a team.
