The NSW SpeedBlitz Blues’ Sean Abbott, Luke Doran and Gurinder Sandhu were today named in the Sydney Thunder squad for the 2012/13 KFC T20 Big Bash League, along with brothers Scott and Adam Coyte.

This is the second season in Thunder colours for Abbott, Scott Coyte and Doran. Coyte was the team’s leading wicket taker in BBL|01, with he and Doran also the side’s most economical bowlers.

A developing all-rounder, Abbott is a valuable acquisition for the Thunder after claiming seven wickets last season and showing plenty of promise with the bat.

Fast bowler Gurinder Sandhu and batsman Adam Coyte are new to the Thunder squad this season.

Sandhu has been part of the NSW U/19 Program for the last two seasons and was recently selected in the Australian U/19 team for next month’s World Cup.

Adam Coyte is the youngest player to ever score a double century in Sydney First Grade cricket, and also represented NSW and Australia at the U/19 level. Adam is also the twin of Lend Lease Breakers and Australian all-rounder, Sarah Coyte.

Fast bowler Pat Cummins is the only other NSW SpeedBlitz Blues player to have signed with a BBL team so far, joining the Perth Scorchers last week.
