Veteran quick Doug Bollinger has been included in a NSW Blues team which will take to the field for an intra-squad practice match at Hurstville Oval on Saturday.
Bollinger’s return will likely see the left arm pace bowler lead the pace attack of team ‘Jaques’ in the second of two scheduled intra-squad friendlies.
The 50 over practice game, which follows on from last week’s game at Howell Oval, will feature six players with recent international experience; Peter Nevill, Ed Cowan, Sean Abbott, Gurinder Sandhu and Trent Copeland as well as Bollinger all all set to take part.
Peter Nevill will once again lead team “Lawson”, whilst Kurtis Patterson resumes the captainship of team ‘Jaques’.
Last Saturday it was the bowlers who came out on top in an entertaining contest at Howell Oval.
Trent Copeland was the pick of the seamers with three wickets, while Mickey Edwards, Gurinder Sandhu and Liam Hatcher all claimed two wickets apiece.
Half centuries to Ed Cowan and Jay Lenton were the standout batting performances in bowler friendly conditions.
Saturday will be the last intra-squad match before the squad departs for a pre-season camp in Brisbane ahead of the upcoming season.
Play gets underway at 9:30am at Hurstville Oval with entry free.
