An unbeaten century from Ed Cowan saw team Jaques prevail over team Lawson in the NSW Blues’ final 50 over intra-squad hit out at Hurstville Oval on Saturday.

Cowan was unbeaten in the second innings producing a classy knock of 113 runs coming off just 87 balls, including three sixes and twelve fours.

It was Cowan’s second spell at the crease after having earlier in the day been dismissed for a duck in team Lawson’s innings.

It was tough work for the bowlers on a batsmen friendly wicket at Hurstville, Gurinder Sandhu taking two for 31 as the only multiple wicket taker.

Cowan’s ton was ably assisted by Kurtis Patterson who compiled an assured 65 off 98 deliveries.

Australian Under 19 all-rounder Jack Edwards did his NSW aspirations no harm earlier in the day blasting an unbeaten 85 off 105 balls.

Wicket-keeper Peter Nevill was also amongst the runs crafting a handy 40 off 67 deliveries.

With the intra-squad hit outs now behind them, the NSW Blues will turn their attention towards a pre-season camp in Brisbane in a fortnight as final preparations for the season proper continue.
