While Ben Rohrer was carving his career as a professional cricketer, his sister Kristy was continuing the family sporting tradition as a professional soccer player in England with Fulham.
Now inspired by the Women’s Big Bash League, and Ben’s title-winning six for Sydney Thunder in last season's BBL Final, Kristy is embracing the Sixers and Thunder Futurestars program which is attracting elite female athletes from other sports.
All females aged 16 and over who have played sport at state level or higher are eligible to register. Click here to register
A former Australian School Girls and NSW Under 18 soccer player and member of the NSW Institute of sport, Kristy had not picked up a cricket ball since she was 12.
She revived the backyard battles of their formative years with brother Ben at the SCG in preparation for the Futurestars trial on Saturday 3 September. The best two participants will be awarded a Thunder and Sixers rookie training contract.
