NSW stars Kurtis Patterson and Dan Hughes have been chosen in Australia A squads to tour South Africa in July.

Patterson has been picked in a 14-man four-day squad after another consistent Sheffield Shield season which saw him score 668 runs at 44.53. He passed 50 seven times but managed just one century.

Players originally from NSW in the four-day squad are Usman Khawaja, who is captaining the team, Jackson Bird and Chris Tremain while follow fast bowler Jason Behrendorff is from the ACT.

Dan Hughes has been named in a 14-man one-day squad along with Tremain and Behrendorff. Hughes has been rewarded for an excellent Matador Cup, when he made 386 at 64.33 including a century.

NSW captain Moises Henriques was originally named in the one-day squad after by far his best season with the bat for the Blues but the National Selection Panel has agreed that Henriques will now stay on with Surrey County Cricket Club.

The Panel considered both Henriques’ experience along with future Australian tours in making this decision. A replacement player will be named in due course.
