New Zealand Under 19's Colts visitation to the MNCCC

The Mid North Coast Cricket Council hosted the New Zealand Under 19's Colts team between the 12th and 17th of January at the beginning of their two week tour of the North Coast Cricket Zone.

A combined Gloucester and Manning team was beaten by the tourists in two day/night games played at Gloucester No. 1 Oval.

However a combined Hastings and Macleay team was able to turn the tables on the visitors by winning a two day game at Port Macquarie's Oxley Oval.

The New Zealand players and management were billeted and escorted around the local Shires by this years hosting Cricket Associations of Gloucester and Hastings.

The Coach of the Kiwi's was very impressed with the hospitality they received whilst in our Cricket Council and in fact stated that it far exceeded their expectations.


Sincere gratitude must be acknowledged to all the people who billeted our Kiwi friends and to those who helped with scoring, making lunches and cooking BBQ's etc.

A further thank you to the Umpires who officiated at each game and to the persons who selected and managed the combined Council teams for a job well done.

Finally, on behalf of everyone associated with the Administration of the Mid North Coast Cricket Council, our appreciation must be given to the Presidents of Gloucester and Hastings, Alan Andrews and Brett Rankin respectively, the two hosting Cricket Association of this years Colts tour, for their excellent coordination and first class organisation.
