The NSW Combined High School (CHS) First XI are the 2010 Lord’s Taverners School Girl Champions after defeating the Combined Independent Schools CIS) at Wade Park in Orange (March 24).
Four teams took part in the three-day tournament with two teams representing the Combined High Schools, one from the Combined Catholic Colleges (CCC) and one from the CIS.
Each team played two Twenty20 and two 50 over fixtures.
The Final standings from the tournament were as follows:
1. CHS First XI
2. CIS
3. CCC
4. CHS Second XI
CHS First XI player Katie Mack, who also plays First Grade for Bankstown, was named Player of the Tournament and won the Fielding Award, while CIS’ Emma Newman was the Bowler of the Tournament with an aggregate of 7-51.
The leading run scorer in the Sydney Women’s First Grade competition, Hannah Trollip from CIS, was the leading batter with 114 runs.
The conclusion of the tournament also saw the following players named in the 2010 School Girl Representative Team:
